The company name is inspired by our collie Kye, KC (Kennel Club) name Out of Step. Kye was a keen agility dog as well as a huge member of our family. He was about 7yrs old when he started having issues, ducking under jumps in competition, eventually showing signs of lameness in his shoulder, decending to his hind leg. We sought the advice from our vets who agreed some kind of physiotherapy would be helpful. We tried a number of therapies from laser treatment, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and chiropractic. However, Kye became paralysed. Without the need for pain medication Kye continued to enjoy life, using his wheels to get around. Nothing got in his way, even hiking to the top of Fan Brycheinog (highest peak in the Black mountains of Wales). We sadly lost Kye in 2012 (undiagnosed cause). When I discovered canine massage I realised I could help to reduce or prevent this type of issue happening to other dogs by identifying issues early and offering support to dogs and owners in similar situations. By spotting issues sooner rather than later the correct line of treatment can hopefully prevent this happening to anyone else. I am more than happy to work alongside your vet to do this.
